Nefertiti

Nefertiti with eyes like the Nile
You make my heart feel bleak...
With your evil, slow and sly smile
You make my knees go weak.

With lustrous, long coal black hair
You make my soul sing
With long slim fingers that are bare
You play on my heart strings.

With a golden glow so bright
You make me want to say
I look to you for dawn's light
Every single day!

Constant Chaos

In the chaos of my mind,
I travel through and find,
That I live in a world where

People are rushing round and round,
Trying to make things seem sound,
Instead of the teetering mess

That they call their daily life,
That's filled with sweat and strife,
And no time for peace.

People working two, three jobs,
The poor the normal and the snobs,
All intermixed in this mess.

People falling in love an out,
Just because of a shadow of doubt,
Letting go of the hands of those

Who were with them at their worst,
Even when they thought they'd burst,
They just don't seem to care.

And then there are people getting hitched,
The ones who found love after being ditched,
Happy once more like they deserve.

I stood there once with my heart in my hand,
Held together with just a rubber-band,
Now I gave to someone else

Who knows how to handle with care,
Someone, who I know, will always be there,
Just as I am for him.

The Children Are Gone

Breathe in and breathe out,
Makes my body scream and shout,
Soon for sure, without a doubt,
There will be no children.

I throw my hands up in despair,
They burn incessantly without a care,
Making my time here meaningless,
For there will be no children.

Times comes and Time goes,
First it rains, then it snows,
There is no more joy left,
As there will be no children.

It goes in and comes back out,
The cloud so thick, my insides shout,
Take me now and save me from,
There being no children.

I wish to go back to that time,
Where everything I knew and said was mine,
Not so horrible as this world,
Without any children.

I spin in circles, as always,
Thinking up excuses and of ways,
To get myself to avoid accepting,
That there will be no children.

My heart screams in misery,
I continue with the atrocity,
I wait and watch for the time,
When there will be no children.

I wring my hands in utter despair,
For I spent my life without a care,
Reckless in my decisions made,
But now there are no children.

Time went on, waiting for none,
I began to think of what will come,
The age of misery and ache,
Of there being no children.

I look ahead and see prospects bleak,
Only because I was too weak,
To hold back just a little bit,
And still there will be no children.

He was here, and now he is gone
Playing on his pipe, calling out in the morn
The piper was calling loud and clear,
The children are now gone.

Inspiration

Inspiration is a funny old girl,
She pops up and sends your world a-whirl,
She never is around when you need her to be
She is always running and jumping in glee.
When she puts her fingers on your neck
You have to stop everything, oh what the heck!
Just stop in your tracks,
And turn your backs,
On everything you did up till then,
Sit down with your paper and pen,
Write or draw or scribble like mad
When she's gone, she leaves you sad.
It's hard to find her all over again,
She sets off events like a long, slinking chain,
Which lags and drags and follows you around,
The thoughts in your head the only sound.
You ponder and wonder and scratch your head
Trying to figure out what she had said.
You only end up messing your hair,
(Some of which falls off of right there!!)
She walked by me right here and now
I managed a glimpse at her, somehow.
She smiled a wicked smile and ran
I wonder if she knew that I still can?

Fairies

Silver rays fall from the sky
Dappled leaves stretch far and wide
Walking by, she catches my eye
No place for her to run and hide.

Her slender form and hair so long,
Her eyes so clear and bright,
Her dress made of dawn's song,
Oh no, she's taken flight!

Darting from here to there she goes,
Not sitting still at all,
Now every one of us surely knows,
That fairies sleep in the fall!

But surely here is one awake,
With bright and beady eyes,
There she goes, light as a snowflake,
As through the woods she flies.

Futility

And in that hour of absolute pain
When I realized I had nothing to gain
I could only wait and see
If things were really meant to be.

As I waited for that whispered word
I knew at once I was being absurd
In hoping for that which will never be
The truth is You don't belong to me!

If I really had held on to your heart
Today we wouldn't suffer being apart
I had let go for a reason unknown
But now I find my love has grown.

The love has blossomed so fine and well
Even without you, here in hell,
I watch as its beyond my ability
And find my efforts end in futility.

I reach and grab with all my strength
And stretch to the limits of my length
The length of my very being and soul
I look for that which will make me whole.

I yearn for a loving word and caress
And those thoughts make me regress
To a place where finally I know I will be
At the peak of being joyous and happy!

But gone are those days in reality
When you and I were one entity
We shared our every thought and feeling
And now before the Lord I am kneeling

As I ask for just one more day
Where the sun rose my way
And set only when we were apart
Those memories are engraved in my heart!

The butterfly

Thus the flower enticed the butterfly,
Minding its own business as it flew along,
Not worried about anything, it fluttered,
So beautiful, happy, and strong.

The scent of the flower drew it near,
And it sped along to take a sniff,
And there it stayed, happy,
Sometimes fluttering, sometimes stiff.

As it opened and closed its wings
Staying on the flower
Standing on its feet, as it sings
Of love and its power.

Now the sunflower turns
And gives the butterfly a smile,
So while the scorching sun burns
The two last a while.

Together as one
Happy as bees
They sit and talk
About those and these.

The flower realized one thing
That it is nothing without the sun
But nobody helps it more
Than the butterfly, that gentle one!
