Fairies

Silver rays fall from the sky
Dappled leaves stretch far and wide
Walking by, she catches my eye
No place for her to run and hide.

Her slender form and hair so long,
Her eyes so clear and bright,
Her dress made of dawn's song,
Oh no, she's taken flight!

Darting from here to there she goes,
Not sitting still at all,
Now every one of us surely knows,
That fairies sleep in the fall!

But surely here is one awake,
With bright and beady eyes,
There she goes, light as a snowflake,
As through the woods she flies.
