Fairies

Silver rays fall from the sky
Dappled leaves stretch far and wide
Walking by, she catches my eye
No place for her to run and hide.

Her slender form and hair so long,
Her eyes so clear and bright,
Her dress made of dawn's song,
Oh no, she's taken flight!

Darting from here to there she goes,
Not sitting still at all,
Now every one of us surely knows,
That fairies sleep in the fall!

But surely here is one awake,
With bright and beady eyes,
There she goes, light as a snowflake,
As through the woods she flies.

Futility

And in that hour of absolute pain
When I realized I had nothing to gain
I could only wait and see
If things were really meant to be.

As I waited for that whispered word
I knew at once I was being absurd
In hoping for that which will never be
The truth is You don't belong to me!

If I really had held on to your heart
Today we wouldn't suffer being apart
I had let go for a reason unknown
But now I find my love has grown.

The love has blossomed so fine and well
Even without you, here in hell,
I watch as its beyond my ability
And find my efforts end in futility.

I reach and grab with all my strength
And stretch to the limits of my length
The length of my very being and soul
I look for that which will make me whole.

I yearn for a loving word and caress
And those thoughts make me regress
To a place where finally I know I will be
At the peak of being joyous and happy!

But gone are those days in reality
When you and I were one entity
We shared our every thought and feeling
And now before the Lord I am kneeling

As I ask for just one more day
Where the sun rose my way
And set only when we were apart
Those memories are engraved in my heart!

The butterfly

Thus the flower enticed the butterfly,
Minding its own business as it flew along,
Not worried about anything, it fluttered,
So beautiful, happy, and strong.

The scent of the flower drew it near,
And it sped along to take a sniff,
And there it stayed, happy,
Sometimes fluttering, sometimes stiff.

As it opened and closed its wings
Staying on the flower
Standing on its feet, as it sings
Of love and its power.

Now the sunflower turns
And gives the butterfly a smile,
So while the scorching sun burns
The two last a while.

Together as one
Happy as bees
They sit and talk
About those and these.

The flower realized one thing
That it is nothing without the sun
But nobody helps it more
Than the butterfly, that gentle one!

His golden chariot and steeds so bright,
Erasing darkness, give the world light,
As He rides across the skies so fast,
Bringing dawn, at long last.

His smiling and perfectly wonderful face,
His youthfulness and charming grace,
Fill every heart with joy and desire,
To gaze constantly at the Lord of Fire.

He stops, stalls, or waits for none,
After all, He is the sun,
The conquerer of my heart,
But alas, we're doomed to be apart.

For although I am named after Him,
And He is my every fancy and whim,
I stand with my arms outstretched,
With His name in my heart etched,

He never even notices me,
As He rides by in all his glee,
I just follow His course each day
Gentle winds making me sway,

My feet rooted to the ground,
My tongue never making a sound,
I stand tall, and watch Him go by,
Not even a tear escapes my eye.
